Seasoning Ideas
There are so many seasoning possibilities when it comes to this recipe. From coating with Homemade Chicken Taco Seasoning to tossing with paprika, chili powder, dill, oregano, and/or onion powder.
Marinating in minced garlic and fresh squeezed lemon juice before broiling is also highly recommended.
Fresh herbs such as basil, rosemary and thyme make a great pairing with chicken too. One tip to keep in mind is to add any dry herbs after broiling. If added before, the herbs are likely to burn under the high heat.

Recipe Tips and Tricks
- Use an Oven-Safe Rack: Placing the chicken on an oven-safe rack on top of your baking tray allows hot air to circulate all around the chicken, resulting in even cooking and a crisper exterior.
- Preheat the Broiler: Make sure to preheat your broiler for a few minutes before putting in the chicken. This ensures that the broiler is at the right temperature for a quick and efficient cooking process.
- Slice Chicken Evenly: If your chicken breasts are thick, consider slicing them horizontally to create thinner pieces. This not only reduces cooking time but also ensures that the chicken cooks evenly.
- Season Generously: Don’t be shy with your seasoning. Season both sides of the chicken liberally with the olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper mixture for maximum flavor.
- Watch Closely: Broiling can be quick, and it’s easy to overcook the chicken, which can make it dry. Keep a close eye on the chicken as it cooks to ensure it reaches the desired internal temperature without burning.
- Use a Meat Thermometer: To ensure that the chicken is cooked to perfection, use a meat thermometer. Chicken is safe to eat when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Experiment with Seasonings: Feel free to get creative with your seasonings. You can use different herbs, spices, or marinades to change up the flavor of your broiled chicken.
- Rest Before Serving: Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after cooking. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more succulent and flavorful dish.
- Experiment with Garnishes: While parsley is a great option, you can also try other garnishes like fresh herbs, lemon zest, or a drizzle of balsamic glaze to enhance the presentation and taste.
