What is Flank Steak?
Flank steak is a cut of beef from the abdominal muscle that is affordable yet versatile. It is a tough piece of beef that is best cooked under high heat for a short period to tenderize. For best results, slice against the grain when slicing to serve.
Have you ever wondered the different between flank vs skirt steak? They are similar cuts of beef except skirt steak tends to be higher in fat content creating a richer thin steak compared to flank.
We often keep things simple by coating flank and skirt steak in olive oil and seasoning with salt and pepper before cooking. However, you can also make a flank steak marinade such as Steak Marinade or Balsamic Marinade.
