Recipe Tips
Preheating the Oven: Make sure to preheat the oven to 450°F before starting the baking process. This ensures that the crust will cook evenly and achieve the desired texture.
Refrigerating the Dough: After forming the dough into a ball, brush a little olive oil on top and refrigerate it for at least 10 minutes. This helps the dough to firm up and become easier to handle.
Rolling Out the Crust: Place the cold dough between two pieces of parchment paper and roll it out into a circle. For a thick crust pizza, roll out the entire portion; for thin crusts, divide the dough and roll each portion separately.
Parbaking the Crust: Bake the crust for 12 minutes if it’s thick, or 8 minutes if it’s thin. This initial baking is called parbaking and helps the crust set before adding toppings.
