How To Make a Baked Potato in the Air Fryer
We used the Ninja Foodi air fryer, but you can use whatever model you own. Wash the potatoes then dry them. Using a fork, poke holes into the top of the potato. Place onto the air fryer tray. Spray with the avocado oil and using your hands, spread the oil over the whole potato. Sprinkle with coarse salt.
Pro Tip: When selecting russet potatoes for the air fryer, choose relatively the same size potatoes to promote even cooking.
Preheat the air fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
Pro Tip: When placing on the tray, leave space between each potato to allow air to circulate and crisp all sides.
Bake
Bake the potatoes for 20 minutes or until they give when squeezed (use clean oven mitts or a kitchen towel).
Serve
Slice the potatoes open with a knife and squeeze gently to open. Sprinkle with freshly ground pepper and your favorite toppings.
Frequently Asked Questions
To reheat a baked potato in air fryer, return to the air fryer preheated to 400°F and cook until hot.
You will bake potatoes in air fryer for approximately 15 minutes (depends on the size of the potatoes). Since this recipe was created with medium-sized potatoes, the total baking time will need to be adjusted if large potatoes are selected. Cook until fork tender.
If aiming for crispy skin and a creamy middle, do not wrap with foil prior to cooking. Cooking unwrapped allows the high heat to circulate and crisp the outside of the potato.
Store in the fridge in a ziplock bag or airtight container (once completely cool) for up to 3 days.
