⭐️Prep the sausage. Add the onions and sausage and cook until the sausage is browned. Add the garlic and spinach. Stir until spinach is wilted. Add to the pie shell.
1/2 pound Jimmy Dean ground sausage, 1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 cup fresh spinach, 1 gluten-free pie shell
Prep the egg mixture. Add the eggs, soy milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper to a mixing bowl and whisk for 1 minute. Pour over the sausage mixture.
4 large eggs, 3/4 cup soy milk, 1 teaspoon dry mustard, 1 teaspoon salt
⭐️Bake. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until set.
Notes
Use any non dairy milk such as almond, cashew, coconut, oat instead of soy being mindful that swapping may alter the flavor of the quiche.
Swap the ground sausage with turkey sausage, diced ham, bacon crumbles, or crumbled Italian sausage.
Stick with spinach only or incorporate additional diced vegetables. Sauté vegetables with browned ground beef for best results.
Use frozen spinach instead of fresh by microwaving until thawed then pressing all excess water out before adding to the skillet.
Top with a dairy free cheese if craving that cheesy flavor or looking for a way to further elevate the flavors in the recipe.
Make crustless by spraying the pie plate with nonstick cooking spray, omitting the crust and pouring the egg mixture directly into the dish
