Prep the rice. Rinse the rice under running water using fingers to move rice around until the water runs clear. Place into the instant pot. Add the water to the instant pot, making sure all rice is covered. Place the lid onto the instant pot and turn the valve to sealing.
1 cup jasmine rice, 1 cup water
⭐️Cook. Turn the instant pot to high pressure and set to 5 minutes. After the time is up set a timer for 10 minutes and do a natural release. Once the time is up turn to venting to release the rest of the pressure and remove the lid.
Serve. Use the rice as is or in your favorite recipes.
Notes
Use chicken, beef or vegetable broth instead of water for cooking.
Add seasoning such as garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite spices to the rice before or after cooking.
Do not turn on the “Keep Warm” function with jasmine rice, immediately remove from heat once pressure is released to prevent mushy rice.
Fluff the rice with a fork instead of stirring.
If there is extra moisture in the Instant pot after cooking, remove the insert and let sit uncovered for 5-10 minutes to allow the liquid to evaporate.
Drizzle with olive oil (dairy free option) or add in butter for a flavor boost.
Top with shredded cheese or mix in a can of salsa before serving.
To cook 2 cups rice add 2 cups water.
Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
