Notes
Keep these tips in mind whether you are selecting your peaches from the grocery store or picking right off a peach tree:
Gently squeeze the peach - if there is a slight give to the skin then this peach is ripe
Steer away from peaches with agreen undertone in the skin - this is a sign the peaches were picked too early
Pick a peach with a sweet smell as this indicates the peach is ripe and ready
Disregard peaches with holes, bruises, blemishes or punctured skin
Let unripe peaches sit on the counter at room temperature to further ripen if needed. They won't be as sweet as if picked when ripe, but they are still delicious.
