Preheat the oven and prep the pan. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Line the baking pan with tin foil for quick clean-up. Add the wire rack.
⭐️Prep the chicken wings. Cut the wingtip from the chicken wing. Cut the drummettes from wingettes (see above). Discard the wingtips. Use paper toweling to dry the drummettes and wingettes.
2 pounds chicken wings
Season the chicken. Place the chicken wingettes and drummettes into a bowl. Add the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir to coat then place on to the wire rack.
Make the garlic butter. Meanwhile, melt the butter and stir in the garlic and red pepper flakes.
1/4 cup dairy-free butter, 2 large cloves garlic, minced, 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Serve. Once the chicken is cooked, toss the wings in the garlic butter. Serve hot with a dipping sauce of choice.
Notes
Crispy Wings: The wire rack, high oven heat (450°F) and patting the wings dry prior to baking will make crispy chicken wings. The wire rack allows air to circulate in the oven to crisp each side of the wing. If a wire rack is unavailable, flip the wings every 10-15 minutes in the oven.
Storing Wings: Store in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. If frozen, thaw the chicken wings overnight before reheating.
Reheating Wings: Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10-12 minutes or in the microwave in increments until hot.
Hot Wings: Spice up this recipe by adding hot sauce or siracha to the garlic butter sauce based on the level of spiciness you are aiming for.
Buffalo Wings: Simply swap the garlic butter sauce with buffalo sauce or serve on the side for dipping.
