Did you know you can make homemade bread in a ziplock bag? It's a really fun (and tasty!) activity for kids of all ages. This recipe is very easy to make and tastes great even if it's not kneaded as well as it might be by an adult or a mixer.
3cupsflour, plus extra for dusting (or gluten-free flour)
1/2teaspoonsalt
Instructions
Preheat the oven. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
⭐️Warm the milk. Place the milk into the microwave and heat for 30 seconds or until warmed (not hot!). If it's too hot it will kill the yeast.
1 cup milk
Blend the wet ingredients. To a gallon-sized ziplock bag, add the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Seal and mix well. Let sit for 5 minutes. Bubbles should start to form which lets you know the yeast is active.
3 tablespoons sugar, 2 teaspoons yeast
Add the dry ingredients. Add the flour and salt to the wet ingredients. Seal the bag and mix for about 5 minutes. Let rise for 5 minutes.
3 cups flour, plus extra for dusting (or gluten-free flour), 1/2 teaspoon salt
Knead the dough. Add a dusting of flour onto a clean work surface. Remove the dough from the bag and knead for 5 minutes. Place into a loaf pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Spray the top of the dough with the spray as well. Cover with a damp kitchen towel. Let rise for 30 minutes.
⭐️Bake the bread. Once the bread has doubled in size, bake for 25-30 minutes. Enjoy warm!
