Preheat the oven. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the baking pan in the oven as it heats.
⭐️ Prep the onions and brats. Carefully place the sliced onions onto the hot baking pan. Drizzle with olive oil and carefully mix. Move to the outside of the pan and place the brats onto the pan.
⭐️ Bake. Bake for 10 minutes. Flip the brats and stir the onions. Continue to cook for another 10 minutes.
Serve. Serve as is or on top of a bun with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Add vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus or brussels sprouts to the sheet pan to roast as the sausage and onions cook. This is a simple way to create a complete meal without using a ton of extra dishes.
Do not pierce before baking. This can lead to dry and overcooked brats.
Flip the brats halfway through to get a charred line on each side.
Cook a variety of flavors (bacon and cheddar, jalapeno and cheddar, garlic or spicy brats), especially if you are planning to feed a large crowd.
Keep warm by storing in a crockpot, foil container or on warm in the oven.
Place the brats in a single layer with space between each sausage when baking.
Use a sheet pan or large baking dish.
Cook Brats in Air Fryeron nights when you don't want to heat up the grill or oven.
Line the sheet pan with parchment paper or tin foil for easy cleanup.
