Saltine toffee is a holiday favorite! Our version uses gluten-free crackers topped with homemade toffee, melted chocolate, and is topped with Heath bar bits for a delicious dessert your guests will love.
Prep the pan and line it with crackers. Wrap a baking sheet with tin foil. Carefully line up the crackers onto the pan in three rows.
7.4 ounce Schar gluten-free table crackers
⭐️Make the toffee. Add the butter and brown sugar to a saucepan. Bring to a low boil. Once boiling cook for 3 minutes whisking the whole time.
2 sticks butter, 1 cup dark brown sugar
⭐️Pour the toffee over the crackers and bake. Carefully pour the toffee over the crackers. Use a spatula to spread it over all the crackers. Place into the oven and bake for 5-6 minutes - until the top is bubbly.
⭐️Add the chocolate and Heath bits. Add the chocolate chips to the top of the hot toffee. Let sit for 5 minutes. Once softened, use an offset spatula to spread over the top of the toffee. Add the Heath bits.
Let cool. Let cool on the counter or place into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
⭐️Break into pieces. Place a large cutting board on top of the baking tray. Flip. Carefully remove the tin foil from the pan then remove the foil from the toffee. Use a chef's knife to carefully slice it into pieces or use clean hands to break it apart.
