Notes
Serve warm or chilled - we find this dip is best served right after it is made. The contrast of the warm ground beef and refried beans with the cool sour cream mixture and toppings makes for a delicious combination.
If making ahead, prep the beef mixture and toppings separately then layer when ready to serve. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days; however, the veggies will become soggy.
Simply swap the ground beef with ground turkey, pork or chicken. You could also swap the ground meat with a can of black beans for a vegetarian dip.
If looking to add more layers to this 7 layer dip with meat, fresh or canned jalapenos, diced bell peppers, Pico de Gallo or hot sauce are delicious toppings.
