- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Let dough set out at room temperature until defrosted, about 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a medium-sized bowl, combine parmesan cheese and butter.
- Stretch the dough into a strip, then wrap it into a knot. Repeat with all rolls.
- Brush the butter mixture onto the rolls.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until rolls starts to brown.
First things first, grab your dough from the freezer and set out at room temperature until defrosted. Typically this takes about 30 minutes.
I love this recipe because these rolls freeze well and work great for make ahead holiday sides that pair well with main dishes.
While you are waiting for the dough to defrost, combine parmesan cheese and butter in a medium-size bowl.
INGREDIENT SWAP: Feel free to swap the parmesan cheese with your family’s favorite at this point. Cheddar cheese is another favorite at my house.
Next, stretch the dough into a strip, then wrap it into a knot shaped roll. Repeat with all rolls. My kids LOVE to help at this step.
This recipe is a great way to get your kids involved in the kitchen during the holidays.
Plus, while they are tying the dough into knots, you can finish up any other recipes or head to set the table.

PRO TIP: Use extra butter and or parmesan mix to brush rolls when they are hot out of the oven or to use as butter for the insides of the rolls.
