Expert Tips
Properly Mix the Ingredients:
Whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, tamari, Worcestershire sauce, and au jus mix until well combined. Make sure there are no lumps or clumps in the mixture.
Use the Right Baking Pan:
Choose a large baking pan that can comfortably accommodate the ingredients without overflowing. Using a pan with higher sides will help prevent spillage.
Cover Tightly with Tin Foil:
Covering the baking pan tightly with tin foil is important to trap the steam and moisture inside. This will help keep the beef tips moist and tender during the long cooking process.
Cooking Time and Temperature:
Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 3 hours as instructed. Avoid opening the oven door during this time, as it can cause temperature fluctuations and affect the cooking process.
Check for Doneness:
After 3 hours, you can check the beef for doneness. The beef should be tender and easily pierced with a fork. If it’s not tender enough, you can continue baking for an additional 15-30 minutes.
Let It Rest:
After removing the dish from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes. During this time, the sauce will thicken slightly, which is desirable.
Adjust Seasoning:
Taste the dish before serving and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add salt, pepper, or other seasonings to suit your preference.
