How To Grill Squash
Heat the grill or grill pan to medium heat.
Prepare the squash
Wash the squash under running water. Cut the stem off then slice in half horizontally. Scoop out the seeds with a spoon.
Oil the squash and cook
Spray the cut portion of the squash with avocado oil spray or brush with a high heat oil. Place cut side down onto the hot grill or grill pan. Cook for 25-30 minutes or until the squash is fork-tender. If cooking in a grill pan, cover with a lid to speed up the cooking time.
Serve
Remove the squash and cool for 5 minutes. Using a fork, remove the cooked squash from the shell.

Season with coarse salt, freshly cracked pepper, red pepper flakes, and/or grated parmesan cheese for simplicity.

How To Shred Spaghetti Squash
If you have been intimidated by spaghetti squash because you are unsure how to shred it, you’ll be blown away by how easy it is! Carefully hold one of the halves then using a fork, shred the squash from the shell. Discard the shell of the squash once all the squash has been scooped out.

It will all depend on the size of the squash. On average, it should take between 25-30 minutes for a medium-sized squash. If cooking a small or large squash, simply adjust the cooking time by 5-10 minutes either direction. When the squash is fork-tender, it is done cooking.
Once all squash has been removed from the shell, cool completely then store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Simply reheat in the microwave or incorporate into another recipe.
You’ll want to select a squash that is shiny and yellow without blemishes, bruises or cracks. Stear away from spaghetti squash that is yellow or green in color as these are not ripe.
