My favorite seasoning to add to popcorn is the following ranch-flavored popcorn seasoning along with another favorite. Salted Caramel Popcorn Seasoning.

You can customize your own flavors at home by adding the following ideas to the recipe below:
- Spicy Popcorn: Add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper
- Cheese Popcorn: Add parmesan cheese
- White Cheddar Popcorn: Add McCormick White Cheddar Seasoning
How To Make Homemade Microwave Popcorn
It is cheap, healthy, and super easy, here’s how:
- Place 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels into a brown paper lunch bag.
- Fold the top over.
- Microwave 2-3 minutes or until popping slows down.
- Carefully remove from the microwave.

If you don’t enjoy plain popcorn, go ahead and use some melted butter or coconut oil.
How To Get Flavoring To Stick To Popcorn
Have you ever tried to flavor popcorn, only to have it all fall to the bottom? I find myself walking very slowly from the counter to the couch just to keep the seasoning on the popcorn. Haha.
To avoid this, you can moisten the popcorn to get seasonings to stick. Oils tend to be the way to go as they don’t have water in them which will make the popcorn start to breakdown.
My favorite way to get the seasonings to stick better is to use a Misto olive oil sprayer (affiliate link below), but the non-stick cooking spray works just as good.
Make a set of Homemade Popcorn seasonings, wrap them up with some gourmet popcorn kernels, and a pretty bow, and you have a great holiday gift for teachers, bus drivers, and friends!
You can grab pretty salt and pepper shakers on Amazon for super cheap. These are my favorite shakers (affiliate link).
