FAQs
For this recipe, we used Honeycrisp apples which are a tart apple variety. Granny Smith is another great apple variety that adds the perfect amount of tartness. For a sweeter, less tart cake, we recommend Gala apples.
Apple cake can be served warm or chilled. Serve sliced as is or topped with chopped walnuts, caramel sauce drizzle, ice cream or Whipped Cream.
Apple cupcakes are a great option if looking for a single serving portion or short on time. For cupcakes, follow the instructions step by step. Instead of using a Bundt pan, layer the apples and batter into a muffin tin. Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
