How Do You Make Fudge with Marshmallow Fluff and Sweetened Condensed Milk?
- Using a knife, carefully break apart chocolate (skip if using chocolate chips)
- Add chocolate to a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl.
- Pour in sweetened condensed milk, marshmallow fluff, and vanilla. Using 1/2 cup marshmallow fluff has a stronger marshmallow flavor, but the fudge is softer. Use 1/4 cup for a more firm fudge.
- Microwave for 90 seconds, then stir. Continue to microwave in 15-30 second increments just until the chocolate is melted.
- Pour chocolate fudge mixture into a 9×9 inch pan and let harden, about 60-90 minutes.
- Cut into squares.
Substitutions:
- Use white chocolate
- Stir in peanut butter rather than marshmallow
- Add nuts
- Add mini chocolate chips right before spreading into the pan
- Swirl marshmallow into fudge rather than mixing it in
How to make
Start by breaking up the chocolate into smaller pieces, which helps the chocolate melt more quickly.
Kitchen Tip: Skip this step and use chocolate chips if preferred. Using chocolate bricks will save you some money though.
Next, add the chocolate into a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl.
Add the can of sweetened condensed milk.
Pro Tip: Do Not substitute this for evaporated milk or regular milk! The recipe will not work if you were to do that.
Scoop the marshmallow fluff into the mixture and add the vanilla.
Kitchen Tip: For a stronger marshmallow flavor use 1/2 cup marshmallow fluff. For more firm fudge use 1/4 cup of marshmallow fluff.
The fudge will be very soft if you use 1/2 cup of marshmallow fluff, but the flavor is delicious!
Heat in the microwave for 90 seconds.
Remove and stir.
Place the bowl back into the microwave and continue heating in 15-30 second intervals, stirring in between, just until the chocolate is melted.
Once the chocolate is melted, pour this old-fashioned chocolate fudge recipe into a 9×9 inch pan.
Let the fudge harden for about 60-90 minutes or until set. Cut into squares and it’s ready for serving!

Can you freeze homemade fudge?
- Make sure the fudge is properly cooled before freezing.
- Don’t store in the door portion of the freezer as it’s the warmer spot.
- Prevent ice crystals and freezer burn by using an air-tight container and wrapping with parchment paper or wax paper.
- If storing fudge in layers, place a piece of wax paper between the layers.

Hi there to all, as I am truly keen of reading this webpage’s post to be updated regularly.
It includes good stuff.
Vicki Struble says
Just made this tonight for my husbands Valentines Day surprise in the morning. This was so much easier than the old fashioned way I made with my mother years ago. I added chopped walnuts for an extra bite of flavor. I did get to sample it from the spatula, yum. He will love me even more when he wakes up to find this.

You will have a happy hubby today! Thank you for sharing and I hope you enjoy it!! Happy Valentines Day 🙂
Nancy Velardi says
Should I be putting this in the fridge to cool
Jodi Danen, RDN says
Hi Nancy! You can, but you do not need to. I’d love to hear how it turned out!
Jill Kiebler says
Once my fudge set, I cut into squares and then ‘frosted’ half of them with crunchy peanut butter.
Sadly, I didn’t get one piece that had the frosting. Will have to make again! Thanks for a great recipe.
Jodi Danen, RDN says
Jill – that is my kinda frosting! Love it – thank you for sharing!

love them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marlene Beyer says
Will it harden if you use gluten free chocolate ? Mine is very sticky after cooling down.
Jodi Danen, RDN says
Hi Marlene! The chocolate should not affect the hardness of the fudge, but the marshmallow would, (if there was a little bit extra or a little less chocolate per marshmallow). You could put it in the freezer to firm it up, then slice. Keep it refrigerated if it’s soft and this should help.
Ginny says
Mine turned out runny, won’t set up. What did I do wrong?
Jodi Danen, RDN says
Hi Ginny! You may have added a bit too much sweetened condensed milk or marshmallow fluff. You could try to firm it up in the freezer and see if that helps.
Lori says
Does marshmallow cream(which I bought by accident) work same as marshmallow fluff? Answer: Internet says cream will make it creamier and fluff will make it more “toothsome” (chewy?). Luckily I want creamy, so we shall see….
Jodi Danen, RDN says
Yes, I think it should work very similarly. I’d love to hear how it does turn out!
Kathy says
Can’t wait to try
Theresa says
I have tried all kinds of fudge this is the bomb it’s so easy to make and my boyfriend just loves it. I’m going to be making this more often thank you so much.
Sara says
Mine turned out very soft and sticky. I have tried putting it in fridge to harden but still really soft and sticky how can I fix it?
Jodi Danen, RDN says
Hi Sara! Sorry to hear that. If it’s very soft you can put it in the freezer to harden up in order to be able to enjoy it. Make sure you’re mixing enough of the condensed milk with the peanut butter.
