How To Make
After gathering the equipment and ingredients, follow the step by step instructions below to make dirt cups for kids.
Crush the Oreos
Place Oreos into the ziplock bag and seal after removing all the air from the bag. Using a rolling pin or a large can, crush the Oreos into small pieces. Set aside.
Pro Tip: Another option is to toss the sandwich cookies into a food processor and pulse until crushed.
Mix the ingredients
Next, add Greek yogurt, milk, and dry pudding mix to a large mixing bowl. You can use a vanilla pudding mix or swap for your favorite flavor. Chocolate, banana cream, or cheesecake are other delicious flavors to consider. Whisk until thickened.
Pro Tip: Play a fun song or set a timer for 2 minutes to encourage young chefs to keep whisking until the mixture is thickened.
Then, add the whipped topping to the bowl. Gently fold into the pudding mix by lifting and turning the whipped topping until incorporated.
Pro Tip: Fold an additional 12 oz container of whipped topping to make extra pudding cups if unexpected guests arrive to your event.
Layer the dirt cups
Add about 2 tablespoons of crushed Oreos to the bottom of each cup. Then, using a small ice cream scoop, place 1-2 scoops of the pudding mixture on top of the Oreos. Repeat until you reach the top of the cup then sprinkle any leftover Oreos on top of the pudding mixture.
Garnish
Garnish with fresh strawberry slices, raspberries, or blueberries.
