This mix has exceeded all of my expectations and is now our favorite. You can customize the ingredients in this mix based on what your family enjoys. It truly is the best hot chocolate mix. It is made with only 4 ingredients in just 5 minutes. Plus, it can be made in a large batch and stored for the cold season ahead.

This is a recipe where adults can step to the side and let our little ones take charge. It is definitely a recipe that can be created by chefs of any age! Encourage your kiddos to head to the kitchen and follow along to make this hot chocolate mix.
Start by gathering the equipment and ingredients. Then, you are ready to follow the instructions and create your glass of homemade hot chocolate.
Equipment:
- medium-sized mixing bowl
- measuring cups
- whisk
- glass jar with lid
- tablespoon
Ingredients:
- 2 cups powdered milk
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup ultrafine granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:

1. Mix the ingredients.
Add all four ingredients to a medium-sized mixing bowl. Blend with a whisk until mixed.
FUN FACT: You can use a fork instead of a whisk to mix the ingredients together.
Tips to Making the Best Hot Chocolate Mix:
- Use a high-quality powdered milk to boost the flavor of the hot chocolate
- Pick a low fat milk powder for a lower fat option
- Pick a whole milk dry powder for a creamier option
- Use a natural unsweetened cocoa powder for a bitter chocolate flavor
- Use a dutch-pressed cocoa powder for a smooth chocolate flavor
- Switch to a dark cocoa powder for a rich chocolate flavor
- Pick superfine sugar as it dissolves quickly. Regular granulated sugar works as well – just takes a bit longer to dissolve.

Add 3 tablespoons of your hot chocolate mix to a mug. Then, add 1 cup of hot water or milk to the mug. Stir until the mix dissolves and enjoy. Be careful not to burn your tongue!
