Over time things change. Picture it…
After 2 hours of getting ready, you sit in a dark, candle lit room with a waiter at your beck and call, ready to pour chilled wine and serve a decadent dessert. There is a handsome man sitting across the table dressed up just for you.
Now envision Valentines Day more recently….With your hair pulled up high and yesterdays yoga pants on, you are at a brightly lit kitchen table with last nights spilt milk still staining the surface. To your left, is a child whose smile is covered in spaghetti sauce; to your right, the fine man you call your husband.
I’m pretty sure you will agree with me when I say it’s not too bad of a trade. While you may not be going out for a fancy dinner these days, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a special meal at home with those you love best.
I asked my fellow dietitians to share their favorite recipes that would make great restaurant meals at home. I hope these 25+ recipes help you celebrate this fun holiday with a special meal that helps make more great memories.
